Prepare Your Documentation

Lodge Your Application
Not only do we prepare a quality application but we also lodge the application and arrange payment on your behalf, saving you time and making the process smooth and efficient.

Citizenship Appointment / Test
If applying by conferral and aged 18–59, you will need to sit the Australian citizenship test. This assesses your knowledge of Australian values, history, culture, government and the privileges of citizenship. Those who do not need to sit the test may still be asked to attend an interview to confirm their identity.

Final Outcome
After your application is assessed, the Department will notify you of the outcome. Processing times vary depending on the stream and your individual circumstances. You are not an Australian citizen until you attend a citizenship ceremony.

Attend a Citizenship Ceremony
If your application is approved, you will be invited to attend a citizenship ceremony in your local area. Once you attend the ceremony, take the Australian Citizenship Pledge and receive your citizenship certificate – you are officially an Australian citizen.
This is a general overview of the citizenship application process. Individual circumstances, processes and requirements vary. We recommend that you seek the advice and support of a Registered Migration Agent.
